About Community Care Behavioral Health

Our Managed Care Organization, Community Care Behavioral Health Organization (Community Care) is a health insurance company that focuses on recovery, and has a history of helping people with behavioral health needs for more than 20 years.

Community Care helps people who have Medical Assistance (the name for Medicaid in Pennsylvania) get behavioral health care for mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities.

Finding The Right Resource and Provider For You

If you need help finding local community resources for behavioral health and/or substance use, please reference Community Care's website or contact Member Services. Community Care helps you and your family by:

  • Listening to your concerns related to behavioral health and substance use.

  • Providing educational support regarding the complaint and grievance process.

  • Helping you connect to community supports, available services, support groups, peer and family networks and other available county and public resources.


Determining Eligibility

To determine if you are eligible for these services, Community Care will utilize Medical Necessity Guidelines to see if you qualify to receive services.  In most cases, Community Care will ask your proposed agency to provide information as to why you need these services.  Community Care will review your request and make a clinical determination regarding your eligibility.
